Iris Horowitz, is an attorney practicing matrimonial and family law in Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties as well as the five boroughs of New York City.

She is a member of the New York Bar Association, the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and the Nassau County Bar Association. Ms. Horowitz serves on the Matrimonial Law Committee and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. She previously served as a panelist for the Early Neutral Evaluation Program for matrimonial cases in Nassau County Supreme Court. Currently she is an approved Mediator for the Nassau County Bar Association’s ADR Tribunal.

A member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Ms. Horowitz attended New York University where she received her BA degree cum laude. She subsequently continued her education at the School of Law at Hofstra University where she received her Juris Doctor degree. Prior to becoming an attorney Ms. Horowitz was a Trustee for the Village of Hewlett Bay Park, an Editor of the Rockaway Journal as well as a columnist and photographer for the Nassau Herald. She also worked as a Spanish and French translator for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Admitted to the New York State Bar in 1992, Ms. Horowitz has been practicing since then with a specialty in all aspects of matrimonial and family law. After spending many years litigating, Ms. Horowitz was convinced that there was a less adversarial way to resolve matrimonial matters. To that end, in 2008 she received training in mediation and collaborative divorce through the New York State Office of the Court Administration’s ADR and Court Improvement Program, and now collaborative divorce and divorce mediation are an integral part of her practice.
